Amargarh is a town in Malerkotla district on the Malerkotla–Nabha side. The drive covers roughly 265 km and normally takes 4.5–6 hours, depending on traffic and how many breaks you take.
The usual route from Amargarh runs via Malerkotla, Khanna, Sirhind, Rajpura, Ambala, Karnal and Panipat. From Amargarh the cab first heads to Malerkotla and then follows the same highway route. The cab joins NH44 at Khanna (or goes via Sangrur through Haryana) and then continues to Delhi. After the Singhu border the cab takes the Urban Extension Road (UER-II) or the Outer Ring Road towards Dwarka and Mahipalpur, which avoids most of inner Delhi's traffic on the way to the terminals.
Doorstep pickup is available across Amargarh, for example from Amargarh town and nearby villages.
Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) has three terminals: T3 handles all international flights and many domestic ones, while T1 and T2 handle domestic flights — your ticket shows which terminal to go to. Airlines ask you to reach about 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one. Add the drive of about 4.5–6 hours, and you should leave Amargarh roughly 9 hours before an international departure (or about 8 hours before a domestic flight). For example, for a 10 pm flight to Canada or the UK, a pickup around 1 pm is a safe plan. Keep printed or digital copies of your ticket and ID ready — security at the terminal gates checks them before you can enter.
Rajpura and Karnal are handy stops on the way. The driver stops wherever you like — just ask.
For early departures from Amargarh, keep your luggage ready the night before — the driver arrives a few minutes early so you leave on time.
Kumar Cabs also picks up and drops in the towns around Amargarh — Sandhaur (~20 km), Nabha (~25 km), Dhuri (~25 km), Bhadson (~25 km) and Rara Sahib (~30 km). Distances are approximate road distances.
Most travellers on this route book a sedan; groups of five or more, or anyone carrying big suitcases, should go for the Ertiga, Carens or Innova so nobody is squeezed.
